Thomas Giblin advises companies and individuals on a full range of civil and regulatory matters, including white collar investigations, government enforcement, and securities litigation.
Mr. Giblin helps clients navigate the complex regulatory and litigation landscape that securities issuers, accountants and auditors, and financial institutions face.
He regularly represents clients in a full spectrum of litigation and enforcement activity, including securities class action litigation and in front of the DOJ, SEC, CFTC, and others, including regulators outside of the US.
Mr. Giblin draws on a background in economics and a keen understanding of the underlying business needs of his clients. He frequently secures dismissal of securities litigation at the pleading stage and regularly resolves matters before they proceed to trial.
In addition to his commercial work, Mr. Giblin handles pro bono work. In one notable matter, he won a favorable verdict at trial for a small business owner accused of violating labor laws, and successfully argued for affirmance by the Second Circuit Court of Appeals.
During law school, he served on the editorial board of the Columbia Business Law Review. Mr. Giblin has clerked for the Honorable Gary L. Lancaster, Chief Judge of the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania, as well as the Honorable Thomas P. Agresti, Chief Judge of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania.
Laura Harris '06

Laura Harris’s practice focuses on the intersection between complex litigation and white-collar investigations. She has litigated on behalf of both plaintiffs and defendants in the financial services, technology, and energy industries, with a particular focus on commercial, antitrust, market manipulation, and securities fraud litigation.
Her investigations experience includes matters in a variety of industries and financial markets. She has represented corporate and individual clients before the Department of Justice, Securities and Exchange Commission, and state attorneys general.
Laura’s practice also includes First Amendment and intellectual property litigation on behalf of media and fashion industry clients
Laura clerked for Judge Lewis A. Kaplan of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York. In law school, she served as Managing Editor of the Stanford Law Review and was a semi-finalist in the Marion Rice Kirkwood Memorial Moot Court competition. Before law school, she worked on foreign and defense policy in Washington, D.C.

Eliot Kim represents clients facing complex litigation matters, with a focus on government-facing litigation. He began his career at WilmerHale as a summer associate in 2018 and was a litigation associate from 2019 to 2022. From April 2022 to March 2023, Mr. Kim was a law clerk for the Honorable Pamela K. Chen of the US District Court for the Eastern District of New York.
In law school, Mr. Kim was a legal intern for the Asian American Legal Defense and Education Fund in New York and the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office. Before law school, Mr. Kim studied and worked in China, and worked as a research intern for the Congressional-Executive Commission on China in Washington DC. Mr. Kim maintains an active pro bono practice, especially in voting rights and immigration cases.

Laurah’s Bio: Laurah Samuels is an associate in the Litigation Department and a member of the Commercial Litigation and White Collar & Criminal Defense Groups. Her practice focuses on complex civil litigation and internal investigations, with a focus on representing corporations and their directors and officers in federal securities class actions and derivative lawsuits. She also maintains an active pro bono practice. Ms. Samuels joined Debevoise in 2016. From 2015 – 2016, she clerked for the Hon. Roslynn R. Mauskopf of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York. Ms. Samuels received her J.D. from Columbia University in 2013, where she was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar and executive editor of the Columbia Journal of Gender & Law. Ms. Samuels received her B.A. from Pomona College in 2007. Ms. Samuels is admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York.

David Marriott

David R. Marriott is a partner in Cravath’s litigation department, with a focus on litigation and alternative dispute resolution in the areas of business, intellectual property, securities, and antitrust. Marriott has tried, argued and litigated cases in both state and federal courts, and has been involved with numerous forms of alternative dispute resolution. He is a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers. He is a lecturer at Columbia Law School and an adjunct professor at New York University School of Law.
After receiving his B.A. from Brigham Young in 1991, Marriot earned his J.D. from New York University School of Law in 1994.
