Call for Photo Shoot Participants
Do you love the camera and CLS? Sign up here to join in a photo shoot. You will be with a small group of your fellow classmates in an on-campus location for 45 minutes. The photos will be used by the Law School in viewbooks, on the web, and in other materials. As a thank you, we will provide you with a beautiful headshot for your use. Dates are October 24-26, but we will do more throughout the year - if you can't participate this time but would like to in the future, please email za2254@columbia.edu

Mandatory Training Alert FOR TRANSFERS: The Columbia Community Citizenship Initiative (CCI) launched on Sept. 26. You received an email from Dennis Mitchell (Office of University Life) with details. You are required to complete two additional trainings among many options (one in Sexual Respect and one in Inclusion & Belonging). You have until Fri. Nov. 4 to meet both components. January Term (J-Term) Elective Information Session - Thurs. Oct. 20, 12:10-1:10 p.m. in JG 105. At this information session, you will be able to hear from Professor Waxman, who will be teaching these innovative elective offerings. Executive Director, Marin Conaughty, will go over the mechanics of registering for the J-Term. A link to the offerings can be found here. Lunch will be served on a first-come, first-served basis.

LCI: Fight to Save the Town - Weds. Oct. 19, 12:10-1:10 p.m. in JG 106. In her new book, The Fight to Save the Town: Reimagining Discarded America, Stanford Law Professor Michelle Wilde Anderson provides a sweeping and authoritative study of wealth inequality and the dismantling of local government in four working-class cities across the US that passionately argues for reinvestment in people-centered leadership. Come hear Anderson in conversation with Prof. Olatunde Johnson as they explore the challenges and opportunities cities face, and the evolving role of local government. Innovation Grant recipients receive up to $1,000 in project funding to design and implement a project during the Spring semester that creates positive change in the Law School and/or the broader community. Procrastination Workshop - This 4-session in-person workshop (following sessions:10/31, 11/7, and 11/14) may be what you need to turn the dial down on procrastination and finish the semester strong. Financial & Child Care Financial Wellness Resources - Students experiencing unexpected financial need, including food and housing insecurity, may be eligible for additional assistance. To apply for emergency assistance, complete the funding request form.
Lawyers Assistance Program - A free, confidential service available to law students and their family members in NYC who are struggling with alcohol or drug abuse, depression, anxiety and stress, as well as other addictions and mental health issues.
