Grad Toast, Class of 2022 - Tues. April 26, 4:00-6:30 p.m. Feldberg Lounge, WJW. To celebrate the Class of 2022 graduation at CLS, GradComm will be throwing an end-of-year bash. Students will be able to pick up Class of 2022 swag including long-sleeve shirts, champagne flutes, and more. In addition, there will be alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks including champagne, wine, and beer. POP-UP SESSION! Graduation Portraits! - Wed. April 27,10:00 a.m.– 5:00 p.m. in WJW, Feldberg Lounge. The Office of Student Services is hosting a pop-up session for graduation portraits. A gown, hood, and cap will be provided by Student Services. No appointment is needed, payment is due only if you decide to purchase a photo.
Tickets are Now Available! Graduation and Commencement: Guests are required to have tickets to attend the Class Day on May 16 and University Commencement on May 18. Deadlines for Graduates to claim tickets are Fri. April 29 at 5:00 p.m. for Class Day and Sun. May 15 at 5:00 p.m. for Commencement. Graduates are required to have a ticket to participate in the University Commencement on May 18. Today!12:00 noon-2:00 p.m. in WJW Feldberg Space Join OJC in celebrating the confirmation of the Honorable Ketanji Brown Jackson to serve as the 116th Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States. 116 red velvet cupcakes and other treats will be on hand for you to enjoy! Please also take a moment to write a note to Associate Justice-Designate Brown Jackson, congratulating her on her historic confirmation and wishing her well as she embarks on this next chapter of her already trailblazing career. OJC will then mail all notes from the CLS community to warmly welcome her to the Court when she takes her oath of office later this summer.
- Introducing New Writing Center Instructor: Misti Duvall Writing Specialist: Misti Duvall is a graduate of CLS, where she was a Stone Scholar, Articles Editor for the Columbia Journal of Environmental Law, and Teaching Assistant in the Environmental Law Clinic. After receiving her JD from CLS in 2006, she spent a decade practicing environmental law with non-profit organizations in New York, Washington, DC, and Southeast Asia. She then shifted her focus from legal practice to writing and teaching, including several years working with prospective law students. Misti also holds an MFA in Creative Writing from City College of New York and a BA in Psychology and Sociology from the University of Tennessee. - Davis Polk Leadership Initiative (DPLI) Survey: DPLI would really appreciate it if you could take this survey about your views on leadership opportunities at CLS, what skills you have developed over the year, and what additional opportunities you would like to see. This survey will be used to inform, among other things, the potential creation of a leadership certificate program at CLS, under which you can participate in a leadership curriculum and obtain a certificate that will communicate your competencies to future employers.
