IMPORTANT CORRECTION: An earlier version of this email included an item about the Pro Bono Requirement in the Deadlines section. The Pro Bono Requirement does not apply to LL.M. students. We apologize for the error and any confusion it may have caused.

Deadlines

 
Feb. 1 - LL.M. Writing Project and Supervised Research forms are due. Each LL.M. must complete the LL.M. Writing Project form once. If you did not complete the form in the Fall semester, you must do so for the Spring semester.
 
These two PDF forms: LL.M. Points Petition & LL.M. Research Assistant/Teaching Fellow are now on our website. They are both due on Tues. Feb. 1 by 3:00 p.m. EST.

- Last week, OJC hosted Judge Jenny Rivera, '93 LL.M. of the New York Court of Appeals for a lecture about Latinos in the Law. Judge Rivera has spent her entire career in public service, including having clerked for then-Judge Sotomayor of the Southern District of New York. Click here to watch a recording of the event.

Graduate Programs


- Borrower Education and Financial Literacy Sessions: Loan Repayment Strategies (2 identical sessions, so please only attend one): Mon. Jan. 31 at 12:00 noon (Register) and 3:00 p.m. (Register). The Financial Aid Office invites LL.M.s with student loans to attend one of two identical, interactive sessions to review your repayment obligations and options, as well as learn strategies for debt management from student loan expert Dr. Jeffrey E. Hanson.

- Support Space for Black International LLM Students - Feb. 1, 12:10-1:10 p.m. in WJW, Room 101. Practicioners from Counseling and Psychological Services and representatives from the Office of University Life will discuss the experience of being a Black international LL.M. student at the Law School. The facilitators will create a safe and supportive environment for students to speak openly about their experiences. This is designed with Black international students in mind, but all are welcome.

Evening Shuttle

The on-demand, point-to-point Public Safety Evening Shuttle by Via has replaced the escort service at the Morningside campus. Additionally, the Intercampus Shuttle runs Monday to Saturday, excluding University holidays.

Public Safety periodically hosts Security Awareness Days at each campus for students, faculty, and staff.
 

Back-up Child Care

Full-time enrolled Law School students can receive up to 60 hours of back-up care per academic year through Bright Horizons.

Child Care & Schooling Services

Care for adults, children, or yourself in situations when normal care arrangements are interrupted or when short-term care is required.

Lawyers Assistance Program

A free, confidential service available to law students and their family members in NYC who are struggling with alcohol or drug abuse, depression, anxiety and stress, as well as other addictions and mental health issues. LAP’s confidential hotline is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week: 212.302.5787.
