Spring On-Campus Interviews(OCI)
Bidding Closes Friday at 5 p.m.
Every spring, public and private sector employers interview Columbia J.D. students for internships and postgraduate jobs. This year, interviews will take place online.
Participating Public Sector Employers All 1Ls and 2Ls positions are summer 2022 with the exception of the Human Trafficking Institute program. All 3L positions are postgraduate.

In Symplicity, select the "interviews programs" tab to view employers and their OCI dates. Submit a resume "bid" to interview with employers. Spots are assigned at random. You can see the results on January 25, and interviews will take place in late January through early March.
This SJI Monday is especially for 1Ls. We will provide guidance on how to map your path toward a public interest, government, or human rights career. Hear from SJI staff and your fellow students on how you can best use your time at the Law School so that you graduate ready to achieve your goals.
First-year J.D. students, get ready for the 2022 Public Interest Legal Career (PILC) Fair! Learn more about the fair's logistics and hear tips on interviews and table talks from 2Ls, 3Ls, and SJI advisers.
The 2022 PILC Fair will be held online February 3-4. The deadline to apply to interview with employers has passed, but you can register to participate in table talk until January 31 at 8 a.m. Use your UNI to register.

The UPenn Law Review seeks student articles on social justice and public interest law. The winner receives a cash prize and a grant to implement a project related to the article. More info
Spring Research Opportunities at the Human Rights Institute
Deadline: 1/25
Training and practice opportunities include the opportunity to work closely with Human Rights Institute faculty and staff as research assistants, becoming involved in cutting-edge human rights and international law projects.
Funding for students engaged in summer internships with social and environmental value. Application period opens 3/1, with rolling deadlines on 3/15, 4/1, and 4/15
Funding for individuals or groups of students, staff, or faculty to design and implement semester-long projects designed to effectuate positive change at CLS, in the legal community, and beyond. Deadline: 1/24 at 12 p.m.
Financial and non-financial assistance for projects that will help dismantle racially subordinating policies, structures, or systems or otherwise help promote racial equity and inclusion. Deadline: 1/28
Funding for 2Ls who intend to pursue racial justice legal work after graduation and/or 2Ls who are from racially underrepresented groups and intend to pursue other social justice legal work after graduation. Fellows receive their funding in the fall of their 3L year. Deadline: 2/25
Connect with the Public Interest/Public Service Council
The council is a large group of senior alumni who are experts and leaders (past and present) in the public interest and government sectors, both in the U.S. and abroad. Students interested in connecting with a council member should email SJI Dean Erica Smock.
